Three tips for teens to manage social anxiety during a return to “normal” life during COVID

As a teen, I seemed shy, and was constantly mortally terrified of making a mistake that could ruin my social standing for life. I ended up making bizarre, often awful mistakes anyway. Being so worried about how I presented myself in the eyes of others meant that I was never expressing my genuine self. Being hyper-focused on not embarrassing myself ended up not mattering, because in many instances I lost out on a great many opportunities by worrying about how I’d mess up those opportunities.
